The Ultimate Marketing Checklist to Finish 2026 Strong

The Ultimate Marketing Checklist to Finish 2026 Strong

As we head into the final months of 2026, it’s time to focus on finishing the year on a high. The peak riding season may be drawing to a close in the Northern Hemisphere, but marketing teams across the motorcycle industry are still pushing hard to hit their annual targets. With Black Friday just around the corner, followed closely by Christmas and the sales season, there’s plenty that can still be done to make an impact. Follow our ten-point motorcycle marketing checklist to finish 2026 strong and put your brand in the best possible position for 2027.

Revisit Your 2026 KPIs Overall and Decide What Still Matters

Review your brand’s year-to-date performance against all your key metrics, be they revenue, leads, ROAS, CAC, dealer inquiries, e-commerce conversion, and so on. Were the targets realistic? Has anything significantly changed for better or worse, which means they should be tweaked, so that a pragmatic approach can be taken for the rest of 2026?

If things are already going well why not set one or two stretch targets for Q4? Pick ambitious but achievable outcomes, whether that’s on overall revenue, market share, qualified leads, new customers or customer satisfaction.

If your team is struggling in certain areas identify who needs help, decide what can realistically be achieved before December 31 and stop investing energy in vanity targets. With your key decision makers, underline which targets matter most for the rest of the year and make a focused plan to get there.

Find One Big Idea That Could Move the Needle

Rather than losing focus across another score of small campaigns, don’t be afraid to back one bold activation worth betting on. That might be a high-profile creator partnership, a unique product bundle, an experiential activation, a brave brand collaboration or a daring content concept. Do something which helps your brand stand out from the crowd, challenges the norm and gives you a real chance of creating a performance spike.

Identify Three Quick Wins and Execute Them Immediately

As well as that one big idea, set your team a task of finding three small neglected opportunities that can be treated as quick wins for your department. These should not require a three-month project, they should be easy jobs that need some sharp focus for a few hours or a couple of days.

They might include an in-person meeting to resolve an issue with an influencer who has become disconnected or a visit to your warehouse to quickly audit items you might wish to promote in a flash sale. If you’re selling online your quick win might come from fixing abandoned-cart flows, activating dormant email lists, polishing outdated product pages or revisiting some high-performing content that was never fully amplified.

Get Black Friday & Cyber Monday Ready Early

Black Friday 2026 takes place on November 27 (Cyber Monday is November 30). Many consumers will already be anticipating and saving money for the biggest retail weekend of the year. It’s not for every brand, for example OEMs selling larger-ticket items such as new motorcycles.

But for many companies in the motorcycle industry, especially those selling D2C and online, being prepped early for Black Friday and the period that follows is essential.

Get the bulk of the work done weeks in advance, such as deciding on which products to include, cross-checking inventory, creating bundles and offers, segmenting CRM audiences, creating email flows, building landing pages and preparing paid creative. If you’ll need extra resource to get it all done, contract those freelancers early. It will determine how you’ll stand out when virtually every motorcycle retailer and gear brand is competing for attention.

Treat Black Friday, Christmas and Post-Christmas Sales as One Commercial Runway

Avoid creating three disconnected campaigns over Black Friday, Christmas and post-Christmas. Plan the customer journey through Black Friday week, the Christmas gifting season and post-Christmas sales, respectively changing creative, discounts and targeting as customer motivations shift.

That’s why being prepared early for Black Friday is so vital, otherwise you’ll be rushing to get your Christmas campaigns live in the days after Cyber Monday and still potentially playing catch-up in the post-Christmas sales.

Lean On Existing Customer and First-Party Data

Q4 is a good time to stop obsessing solely over acquiring new audiences. Whilst Black Friday often helps with gaining new customer data, it’s important during this period to make your current customers feel connected and valued by your brand.

In cold online marketing terms that means segmenting existing customers by open rate, purchases, interests, motorcycle type, location, demographics and engagement rates and providing the most relevant seasonal offers right now.

If you’re a bricks-and-mortar business such as a dealership, retailer, café, workshop or custom motorcycle builder, now is the perfect time to invite your existing customers in for an event, whether it’s a seasonal gathering, coffee ride-out or end-of-year party.

Put Paid Media Behind Your Best Content

Look back over what has genuinely worked organically during 2026 in terms of views and engagement. Identify your top ten posts, whether they are user-generated reels, influencer collaborations, product videos or reviews, then amplify that proven creative with a paid boost, rather than automatically creating another batch of standard ads.

Get Out and See Your Customers in a Different Environment

Before the year ends, spend a day wherever your customers are, when they’re not visiting you. So if you’re a physical business get out to other places where you know riders hang out. If you’re an online business connect with your customers in the real world. Doing this with your colleagues can also be really rewarding. So visit a busy dealership, retailer, café, event or track day and talk directly to riders and the staff attending to them.

Look at what riders are doing and buying, what they’re ignoring and which competitors keep coming up in conversation. That could provide the key insights to help form your 2027 plans.

Finish With an Transparent Annual Review

Before everyone disappears for Christmas, establish what actually drove business in 2026. What were the big wins and highlights, which team members and partners over-delivered and what were the main contributing factors to the success of the company over the year.

By contrast, consider where could money have been better invested, who was under-resourced and which channels deserve increased investment. Review things as a team and in one-to-one sessions where relevant, allowing even the most junior voices to contribute opinions. They often bring valid insight and a refreshing view to the table.

Then collate the best feedback, brainstormed solutions and key conclusions from your reviews directly into the first 90-day marketing plan for 2027.

Reward and Acknowledge Your Team

For many companies an expensive late-night Christmas party might be a thing of the past. However, in terms of team morale and company culture it’s crucial to individually acknowledge the hard work of your team members, with a relevant end-of-year gesture. That might take the form of an out-of-office team bonding day (motocross track day, anyone?!) or a relaxed and informal lunch early in December, with Black Friday behind you and before the Christmas rush.

A personal thanks from a CEO, CMO or head of department to team members in front of their colleagues goes a long way and many companies have left such customs behind. The budget you save by not hosting an over-elaborate Christmas party could be invested in a small but meaningful gift for each team member, to help ensure they arrive back to work in January feeling valued and motivated.

There’s still just enough time to make a meaningful impact on your end-of-year 2026 results and put your brand in a stronger position for the year ahead.
